A Perfect Playhouse {Playful furniture built to last}
Ashlyn is at the age where she is always moving and playing, so we have to fill the playroom with things to keep her busy that use both her imagination and her body. Recently she has been very interested in rocking (she watches us rock baby brother to sleep and naturally she wants to rock her babies to sleep, too). There doesn’t seem to be very many options for quality, handmade kids furniture options but A Perfect Playhouse offers quality wood furniture built for play and to last! Our white wooden rocker arrived quickly and packaged well. It took less than 3 minutes to put together (we are big IKEA…

Whispering Willow {Natural & beautiful products for the home}
As a huge fan of natural, simple products for my home and family, when I found Whispering Willow I was delighted! These beautiful, all natural products (soy candle, linen spray, and lip balm) are classy and smell great without the harsh chemicals found in non-natural room products! I have the lavender room spray, lavender soy candle, and vanilla lip balm. Of course, I am candle obsessed here!! But one thing I don’t like is candles that look pretty, but once you burn them you immediately regret it. That’s not the case with Whispering Willow’s all natural soy candles. They burn clean and smell wonderful! The simple labeling looks beautiful displayed…

Washington Makers {The best local small shops for mom and kids}
I am a proud Washingtonian here, and am so excited to have had the opportunity to work with some fantastic Washington makers! I wanted to share all the beautiful handmade items you can find right here in Washington State, all made by small shop mamas! I was inspired by these cute flash cards for kids from Bright Eyed Baby Shop which are Washington state themed. I chose 8 themes from this flashcard set that I felt best represented my state and these gorgeous items. … Theme: Pacific Northwest Washington is part of the Pacific Northwest. The PNW is known among other things for its wildlife, mountains, and forests. Wild Things…

While They Slept {Story time with felt storyboard sets}
Ashlyn has a huge imagination. I can’t say for sure its because we only offer our kids “quiet” toys (nothing that speaks or does the thinking for the child), but I can definitely tell you that she LOVES using her imagination, so we provide her with as many stimulating pretend toys as possible to nurture her little mind. I have always adored the felt sets at story time at the local library, but I could never find any felt sets I liked other than the standard ABCs and 123s. Of course, once I discovered While They Slept I was instantly hooked! I had to have every set! We own several…

ThreadTank {Shirts with style}
Who loves sassy, smart, and funny tees? I do!! Seriously though, a cozy grey shirt with something on it that represents who I am is my ideal everyday tee. And Thread Tank delivers. The fit is relaxed and cozy, the tees are cute, sassy, and funny, and there are SO many designs to choose from! The 3 that I choose from I thought were perfect for me. First though, the packaging is super cute! Ok so my favorite tee is my WA ROOTS tee! I love my home, I have roots here, and this is where I want to stay. This is definitely one of my new favorite shirts ever…

Grocery shopping with ThirtyOne Re-Useable Bags
It’s Friday! For our family that means grocery shopping day. Time to load up the littles, and my cart, and prepare to feed this family of 5 for yet another week. And my family sure can eat! I hate plastic bags for many reasons; they are bad for the environment, they don’t hold much, they rip, and then I’m stuck dragging in 20 bags while juggling kids tired from the shopping trip while the food slowly rots the longer it’s out of refrigeration. Nothing about plastic is awesome at all. When I discovered ThirtyOne Gifts and these awesome utility and thermal market totes I was more than excited to test these…

Muffin Bub Dolls {A sweet tea party with felt toys}
It’s no secret that I loathe toys that make noise. By that I mean toys that remove all genuine imagination from playtime. I love simple toys that allow my children to create a world of their own. I believe play fosters imagination and leads to a bright and happy mind! There is NEVER too much playtime in our house. Ashlyn is my most playful child at this time. She is almost 5, and spends pretty much every waking moment immersed in pretend play or art of some kind. I am always looking to add new foods to her play kitchen but have been a little disappointed with the selection I…

Unicorns & Batman {A shared boy & girl nursery & bedroom}
After we completed the initial remodel work, next we worked on each bedroom. One of the last rooms I finished was Ashlyn’s room. She was still mostly co-sleeping (not by choice, its been an ongoing war since birth!) and I wasn’t yet sure anyways how I wanted to finish her room. A year later when we found out we were pregnant with baby #3 I suddenly found my motivation to finish it. I did not know the sex yet, so I wanted a neutral color and I love blues so I choose a blue that I thought worked well for a nursery and would be pretty for what I had…
