A Monochrome & Batman Toddler Boys Bedroom
Monochrome and wood are super trendy for kids bedrooms right now, and when combined with Montessori style organization you can create a simple and modern kid’s bedroom that you can keep clean! When our youngest, Arlo, first arrived, his nursery was shared with his big sister Ashlyn’s bedroom and the kids shared a large Montessori inspired playroom. A boy-girl shared bedroom and nursery worked well when they were little, but after 18 months we knew we needed to separate the kids. Emily moved out of this space and into the playroom, leaving this bedroom ready for a modern monochrome and Batman themed toddler bedroom refresh! The reason we needed to…

Sugar Cookies + Leaf Hunts {Family traditions}
Fall baking continues in our home as we whipped up some easy store bought sugar cookies and cut out some fun fall shapes. Leaves, acorns, pumpkins and furry critters filled the counter as we cut and decorated the day away. The sky was briefly clear of rain making it also the perfect day to collect leaves, so Ashlyn and I also went on a leaf hunt! Sugar Cookies I love rolling the dough, it just seems pleasing to watch it spread evenly and smoothly, waiting to be cut into anything you dream up. Emily really enjoys the cookie cutting part. Its so satisfying turning dough into shapes! Look at…

Olga’s Organics {Pure & simple organic beauty essentials}
If you catch me on any given day you will see me in a slouchy beanie or a hair braid, yoga pants and a comfy shirt. Not a whole lot of makeup or fancy extras. I like to dress and wear things similar to how I like to live my life; clean and simple, while enjoying things that are both pretty and useful. Over the past several years I have changed our home over to products that are organic and non-toxic, to better the environment and the health of our family. However, I had not yet found an organic line of beauty products for myself that I loved. Until now!…

Banana Bread + Pumpkin Patches {Family traditions}
Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year. Every other season has birthdays, anniversary’s, and major holidays to celebrate, but there is something special about fall in my heart. I don’t know if its because it brings back fond memories of the annual first day of school excitement, or if its the the crisp chilly air, the beautiful colors and the taste of the fall harvest, or the endless fall baking and pumpkin flavored treats. Alright, I confess; I do know exactly why I love fall – it’s all of the above! Today I’m sharing my favorite fall kick off activities, homemade banana bread and a family trip to…

DIY Wild One First Birthday Party
Wild One is a party I knew I wanted to throw for my little Arlo’s first birthday since they day he was born. I wanted something that captured his little wild personality and I liked the idea of the theme using the word “one” so I decided on a Wild One theme early on and let the planning begin. Of course I had to DIY it to keep the cost low and the cute factor high. For this DIY Wild One First Birthday Party I created my own DIY naked cake and cupcakes with boxed cake, and made a DIY banner, cupcake toppers and cake topper with my Silhouette machine.…

I love organization. I love labels. I love custom kids products. And I love ordering coordinating items for all my kids. Sarah + Abraham delivers all of the above by offering super cute custom kids products (and even for me, too!) I absolutely LOVE the custom gift labels! I ordered a family set, a set for Emily, and a set for Ashlyn (they are frequent gifters to all of their friends at birthday parties throughout the year). Once Arlo is older and has his own little buddies to gift to, I plan to order him a set as well. I know we will get tons of use out of these…

Bookroo {an updated review of all 3 boxes}
I previously reviewed Bookroo for my 5 year old here. This time I’m taking a look at all 3 subscription boxes. 1. Early-readers (age 7-10) 2. Picture books (age 2-6) 3. Board books (age 0-2) Lets start with Emily’s box. This box is geared towards children age 7-10. Like the other boxes, the books come individually wrapped (which is so very exciting for children at any age!) Emily is 11, so I knew these books would be easy readers for her but we wanted to check them out anyways. The first book is “A Dragon’s Guide to the Care and Feeding of Humans,” by Laurence Yep and Joanne Ryder. Emily…
