Gold Hill Candle Co {Natural soy candles deliverd monthly}
Caring for children, cleaning a house, running errands… these are all things moms have to do everyday, and everyday we go to bed forgetting to do something for ourselves. Some days I skip my shower (probably most days) or fall asleep in my clothes wherever I find myself finally sitting to rest. Something I don’t usually do everyday, or most days, is pamper myself, or even make the time to buy things for myself that I need or enjoy. However, I really, really love candles. If there is something I do almost everyday, it’s burning a candle. Candles make me feel like my life is clean, wonderful, and put together-…

Grayland & Westport, WA {Pacific Northwest}
A favorite, local beach getaway that my family requests year after year, is to the beautiful adjacent beach towns of Grayland and Westport, WA. Located on the gorgeous Cranberry Coast, and just under 3 hours drive time from Seattle, the beaches here are long, clean, and covered in miles of sandy shores. You will find everything you need for a family vacation in Grayland and Westport, including fresh seafood markets, tasty wineries and breweries, delicious restaurants, quirky shops, plenty of campsites and vacation properties, and best of all, a vast shoreline covered by beautiful, sandy beaches. Our family has vacationed in Grayland/Westport at least 5 times in the past 3…

An easy & healthy weekly school lunch prep routine
I am all about saving time and money, especially when it comes to the daily to-do for my kids and family. One life changing routine I began 10 years ago was to prepare my family’s school/work week lunch meals every Sunday for the entire week. This gives me more time in the mornings for breakfast and other tasks, and really takes the stress of packing a healthy lunch for my family every day off my shoulders! I have done lunch prep every Sunday for a little over 10 years, pretty much every week, and absolutely love it. I began 10 years ago when I started packing my husbands lunches to…

DIY Tea Party Kids Birthday Party
For Ashlyn’s 6th birthday party I threw a fancy DIY tea party for her and her friends. I decided on a tea party because she has really been interested in her Fancy Nancy books, and is often playing tea party with her dolls and friends. This year seemed like the perfect year for a tea party birthday! Her older sister, Emily, had a “Tea Party in Paris” theme when she was 7, so I had thrown a tea party once before and already had a set of fancy tea cups and saucers ready to go. I previously thrifted the mismatched cups on different occasions, paying between 99 cents and $1.99…

An Easy DIY Faux Shiplap Entryway Tutorial
I have been wanting to do Shiplap in our home foreeeever! Well we finally did our first faux shiplap wall and I am absolutely in love! Besides being very affordable, it was actually very easy as well! The wall we had been planning to shiplap is in our entryway, which happens to be a huge (9 foot) wall. After readying many, many tutorials, we came up with the best plan and materials and got to work! Here is an easy DIY faux shiplap tutorial…

Creating Budget Friendly Spring Themed Easter Baskets for kids (using less candy)
Spring is in the air, and that means lots of gardening around here, and of course, Easter! I am very adamant about using as little candy as possible in my kids Easter baskets. I typically allow very little candy in general (Christmas stockings, or as party favors) because I really want it to be a rare treat, not an everyday sugar overload. I also am very budget conscious when I shop for their baskets. With three kids, you have to be! Here is a look into this years baskets, using minimal candy and budget friendly items! This year I invested in a set of personalized basket liners from Porter Lane…

IKEA Ektorp Beige Slipcovered Couch Care {An easy & fast cleaning routine}
It took several years of owning several couches before I found the one that I truly love. I finally discovered the IKEA Ektorp slipcovered couches a few years ago, and can only wonder why I hadn’t discovered these couches sooner. Now that we have owned this couch for a few years, I can happily say I still love it and that it is a fantastic option for families with kids and pets. The couch itself is very affordable at just $799 for the beige slipcovered sectional option, with additional covers starting at only $99! I love that you can change the cover and refresh your style without having to invest…

DIY Farmhouse Table {Using Ana White plans & a custom stain mix}
Before building this table, I set out to find an easy DIY farmhouse table plan that required few specialty tools and no prior woodworking knowledge. I read through several plans and posts until I found this awesome plan! I modified the measurements to create a size that was just perfect for our space, but otherwise followed it exactly and love the result. The total cost was around $100, which is amazingly cheap for a table! I won’t be stressing out when the kids ruin it over the years, since it will add to the farmhouse charm (and since it was so cheap!) Here is a quick overview of the project!…
