Easy DIY – Fresh Flowers in a Wicker Basket Floral Arrangement

I love how fresh flowers look in the home. They smell wonderful and add a touch of the outside in the home! Fresh flowers boost your mood, reduce stress, positively impact your creativity, and add humidity to the air. But I also like the flexibility of arranging faux stems in unique wicker farmhouse style baskets – so I created this super simple and easy DIY fresh flowers in a wicker basket floral arrangement hack to get the best of both worlds!

Step 1 – Gather fresh flowers, a wicker basket, and a glass vase

Purchase or gather fresh flowers, find a cute wicker basket, and use any glass vase you have available that fits inside your wicker basket.

I like this tall wicker basket, so I am using a tall pitcher as a vase to hold the flowers inside the basket. The key is to be sure the stems are long enough that they stick out of the vase and flop to the sides. You want to have a nice wide spread of stems so they will cascade slightly over the edge of the wicker basket.

When all the stems are in your vase, it might look silly because normally you wouldn’t want to have your stems too long and full compared to a container this size. But don’t worry, once you move the vase into the basket it will look fantastic!

Step 2 – Place the glass vase inside the wicker basket

It is as simple as that folks! I know this might seem so easy that I didn’t even need to write about it – but before I came up with this idea I never thought to create a fresh floral arrangement inside a wicker basket! I love how pretty it looks in a farmhouse or cottage style home – playing on a neutral decor theme.

A wicker basket full of fresh flowers looks gorgeous paired with some vintage treasures as a cottage or farmhouse style centerpiece!

Hopefully this inspires your own DIY fresh flower arrangement in a wicker basket!
